I just watched "Message in a Bottle" -- the episode where Liam meets the real Kincaid -- and I was wondering why I keep seeing references to him as Colonel Zeke. I saw nothing in the episode (and I watched it twice) to indicate that he was using an alias. Did I just miss it?

I wish I could answer that, but I have no idea. We're probably reading the same fics, because I've encountered "Colonel Zeke" a few times, too, but I couldn't find anything in canon. And believe me, I've watched "Message in a Bottle" so many times.

So I can only guess - maybe there was some additional character information available back when the show first aired, on some official site that doesn't exist any more after all those years?

Hm. That could be, I suppose. Or someone made it up and it stuck, like Liam's eyes being green (which, heck, I'm running with). His actor's eyes seem to be blueish-grey.

In the images I grabbed from IMDB and posted here on the comm, the eyes look blue-green-grey to me. On the show, well, depending on the light, sometimes they look light brown. *g*

Yeah, it's really hard to tell. Like those arguments that I've seen about whether or not Loki's eyes were blue or green during Avengers.

It just occurred to me to wonder if maybe that's how he was referred to in the script? Because it'd be awfully confusing if it was just Liam and Liam all the way through.

When I think about both of them I refer to them as The Major and The Colonel in my head. My beta called them Liam and Liam!Prime. *g*

I like The Major and The Colonel. That seems simple enough. Unless you have trouble typing "colonel."

I am relatively sure that Dean McDermott's character doesn't reveal his real identity immediately in the stuff with the ODK. Isn't that how he's originally referenced?

They don't call him any name at first, at least in the version I have on DVD. Not even when I'm watching with subtitles on.

But it's a re-release, and I did notice them cutting out some stuff - sometimes it's only seconds, and I only noticed because I've watched a pirated version online somewhere.

So, I'll have to take your word for it, because my DVDs don't support this. :(

I watched it religiously from the moment the pilot aired and I can't remember clearly. Sorry I can't be more definitive.

I'll have to check my DVDs. I just watched it again on YouTube (in case it was a different version), and they didn't call him anything but "Colonel." In fact, none of the others (except Our Liam) ever refer to him by anything other than his rank.
